Ever since Mediatek able to manage the thermals of their Processor and Launching Dimensity Series Processors which is a Complete 5G Lineup even Smartphone OEM’s Showing interest in Mediatek’s Processors and using them in their devices.
After attaining a big success to their Dimensity 1xxx and 8xx Series, Today Mediatek Official launched a new Processor Mediatek Dimensity 900 5G and Looks like its the Successor to Dimensity 820 Processor, this Chipset will fill in between Dimensity 800 and 1000 Series Chipsets.
This Chipset was leaked earlier and it has surpassed the Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G Processor and looks like Dimensity 900 is very Capable and Powerful Processor.
Dimensity 900 Specifications:
Mediatek Dimensity 900 is built on 6nm architecture which is 8% more power efficient than the 7nm process which makes it a powerful and Power efficient Processor. Dimensity 900 is an Octa-Core Processor out of 8 Cores, 2 being Arm Cortex-A78 Cores with Clock Speed up to 2.4GHz and other 6 are Arm Cortex-A78 Cores with Clock Speed up to 2.0GHz. Dimensity 900 Comes with Arm Mali-G68 MC4. It comes with Support for UFS 2.1 and UFS 3.1 Storage types and LPDDR4X / LPDDR5 RAM types and its the First Dimensity processor which Comes with LPDDR5 RAM Support and indeed first in Mediatek Chipset to come with LPDDR5 RAM.
The Chipset Supports Up to 108MP Camera and up to 120hz Full-HD+ Display with real time HDR-10+, SDR to HDR upscaling, Enhanced HDR10+ video playback with per-frame local tone mapping. The Chipset is capable of recording 4K Videos at 30FPS.
Dimensity 900 comes with Multi-GNSS Dual Band GPS (L1+L5), it also comes with WiFi-6 with better signal Quality from 2×2antenna and Bluetooth 5.2. Mediatek Dimensity 900 has integrated 5G Modem which has Dual 5G Support with Peak Download Speed of 2.7 GBPS and it supports all following network bands.
2G-5G Multi-Mode, 5G Carrier Aggregation (2CC FDD/TDD), Dual 5G SIM (5G SA+5G SA), Up to 2.7Gbps DL SA & NSA modes; SA Option2, NSA Option3 / 3a / 3x, NR TDD Band, NR FDD Band, DSS, NR DL 2CC, 120 MHz bandwidth, 4×4 MIMO, 256QAM NR UL 2CC, 2×2 MIMO, 256QAM VoNR / EPS fallback.
The Processor Look very Powerful and Capable Chipset and it could be used in Midrange and Upper Midrange Smartphones. I’m eagerly waiting to see which Smartphone OEM uses it first and which Smartphone will have it. Smartphones with Dimensity 900 will also get launched in India as there’s great audience for Dimensity Processors too.
