OnePlus was one of the First Smartphone OEMs to make Android 12 Beta 1 available to it’s Devices after Google releasing Android 12 Beta 1 for it’s Pixel devices. Earlier Android 12 Beta 1 release by OnePlus for it’s OnePlus 9 Series made the devices get bricked and after Users reporting the issue OnePlus pulled back the Android 12 Beta 1 release.
Now after solving all the issues in the earlier Android 12 Beta 1, OnePlus now made a new Android 12 Developer preview build available for OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 pro. This New l Build comes with the Fixes to the issue that caused the original version to get stuck during Factory Reset Protection (FRP) check. This news is according to a recent Post on the OnePlus Community Forums.
OnePlus also highlighted the Known issues in latest Android 12 Build in that Post which includes:
- All data will be cleared while flashing the build
- Video call function is not available
- Fingerprint unlock and face unlock are unavailable
- Certain UI screens look less than desirable
- Some apps may not function as expected
- System stability issues
- Probability of camera crash when HDR mode enabled
Along with highlighting these issues, OnePlus also said installing Android 12 Beta atill possess a risk of BRICKING your phone and read the instructions carefully and be 100% sure of what you are doing. Please always backup your important data before flashing.
Here’s the Procedure to install Android 12 Beta on your OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro:
- Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the specified server.
- Copy the ROM upgrade package to the phone storage.
- Go to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Click top right icon -> Local upgrade -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> Upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
- After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
- Update successful.
