Yesterday in India OLA launched their two new Electric Scooters, OLA S1, and S1 PRO. These EVs are Made in India and OLA Electric is building a Factory in Tamil Nadu, Krishnagiri District. Which they call ‘Future Factory‘ which Will be the largest 2W factory in the World.
When the OLA’s Future Factory is ready for production it will be capable to produce 10 million Electric-Scooters every year.
Let’s talk about the OLA S1 and S1 Pro the two new Electric Scooters from OLA electric.
OLA S1 and S1 Pro:
Firstly let’s see the Performance of the OLA EV’s. OLA S1 comes with a peak motor power of 8.5 KW and 85nm peak Torque with a top speed of 90 KMPH. It can get from 0-40KMPH in just 3.6 sec with a total range of 121 KM.
On the other hand, OLA S1 Pro is the high-end variant that also has the same peak motor power as OLA S1. The Top Speed of S1 Pro is 115KMPH with a range of 181 KM which is the highest in the Industry. The S1 Pro can achieve 0- 40 KMPH in just 3 sec. They come with a Home Charger which could charge the OLA S1 in 4hr 48 mins and S1 Pro in 6hr 30mins. It also supports Fast charging with 18 Minutes of Charge will give you 75KM of range. And 100K+ Charging stations in 400 cities.
The OLA EV’s come with a Disc Braking mechanism for Fast and Safe braking. It also has a rear Mono Suspension for all riding situations. When it comes to the riding Modes the OLA S1 has two I.e Normal and Sports. The Pro variants have three Norma, Sports, and a Hyper Mode. They also have two more useful features, Hill Hold and reverse modes.
OLA Scooters features a large 7-inch touch Screen Display which is powered by a 1.8Ghz Octacore Processor Coupled with 3GB RAM with Built-in GPS, Bluetooth, and LTE connectivity.
It runs on a Custom OS called ‘MoveOS‘. This OS offers a lot and with MoveOS Using the Screen you can make calls, send messages, and Share locations. You can track your scooter, Lock / Unlock, and can control using the OLA app on your smartphone. You also get Smart alerts like Side Stand alert, Tamper, and SOS alerts to your smartphone.
OLA Electric scooters come with an elegant and minimal design with a wide range of color options up to 10 Colors. For Storage, Both the OLA S1 and the S1 Pro bring the larger Boot space with a storage capacity of 36L where you can store two helmets easily. With Dual LED Head Lamp and Alloy Wheels.
OLA S1 is available in five Colors- Porcelain White, Marshmellow, Neo Mint, Coral Glam, and Jet Black. While the OLA S1 Pro has 10 Color Options- Porcelain White, Liquid Silver, Marshmellow, Millenial Pink, Neo Mint, Anthracite Grey, Coral Glam, Midnight Blue, Jet Black, and Matte Black. Only S1 Pro has the Matte Color Options and all the OLA S1 EV colors are Glossy.
