Huawei Patents for a Rollable Smartphone with Magnets.

Huawei recently launched Huawei P50 Series and it’s a Flagship Smartphone and Huawei is known for its innovation.

We are now seeing OEMS showing more interest in Foldable and rollable Smartphones over regular one. We have seen many Foldable Smartphones in the past few years and also the Rollable Smartphones Prototype from Oppo ‘Oppo X 2021‘ and Foldable Concept from TCL. And we have also seen other brands filing parents for Rollable Smartphones. Now it’s time for Huawei and Huawei Patents for a rollable Smartphone.

Huawei Mate X2 was the last Foldable Smartphone from Huawei and Now Huawei working on a reliable Smartphone with a Magnetic mechanism.

The patent was shared by letsgodigital and here’s how the unique Patent from Huawei looks like.

The Design of the Patent shows the Large Flexible Display which rolls from the Front to the Back of the device. The Patent was filed on 31st January 2021 at WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office).

The Patent documentation by Huawei states that the rollable smartphone will be equipped with a P-OLED display (plastic organic light-emitting diode) with a plastic base layer. The Patent shows the three modes of the Smartphone one is rolling a bit, the second one is to roll the Display a little more and the final mode is no rolling of the display.

The main intention of using Magnets is to avoid unwanted folds when rolled the display. And here’s how it works.

A roller is placed between the two magnets, which is larger than the thickness of the housing – as shown in the patent image above. In this way, the roller ensures that there is some form of play between the pull-out display and the magnets. This way, unwanted friction can be prevented from occurring, which would complicate the rolling up and unrolling process.

We have also seen a Patent from Google which contains the slinging hinges in between the Screen and now the Magnets in the Device to prevent folds when rolled.

The smartphone Display of the Rollable Smartphone when the Display is completely rolled out the display will be 70% larger than the unrolled display.

Huawei’s this new Patent Looks Cool and Need to see how the device will work and when they will Launch it and what will be the thickness of the device.

The Future will be seeing more rollable Smartphones than expected and by the end of this year, we might see some more concepts or even a Proper Launch of a Rollable Smartphone. Oppo X 2021 was said to be launched this year. 2022 is going to be the Year for rollable and Foldable Smartphones.
